With rental values almost as high as ₹ 430 per square feet per month, Delhi and NCR is the most expensive office location in the country followed by Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai. The cost of each workstation in Delhi-NCR region is over ₹ 350,000 per annum, states the report by real estate consultancy firm Cushman & Wakefield. The second position saw rental costs of over ₹ 200,000 per annum per workstation.
As per the report titled, “Office Space Across the World 2017”, Delhi-NCR ranks at 84th position in the list of most expensive office locations globally.
Anshul Jain, Country Head & Managing Director, India, Cushman & Wakefield said, “Indian office spaces are competitive globally in terms price, design and desk space. Our office space absorption is largely led by the services sector with IT-BPM making close to 50 percent of total office space requirements. Added to this, the growing trend of Startups in India, has been contributing in creating employment as well as office absorption. Both these phenomena benefit greatly because of lower office space costs”.
The report also states Hyderabad and Ahmedabad are globally the most inexpensive office location, with the average workstation costing ₹ 57,000 per workstation per year and ₹ 40,000 per workstation per year respectively.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong got the top spot in the most expensive location per workstation cost with costing over US$ 27,000 per annum and the second and third place in the list was taken by London and Tokyo, respectively.
